15th GNLU International Moot Court Competition 2024 (15-18 February 2024)
We congratulate the team comprising Manya (II Year), Urvesha Navghare (II Year) and Rashi (II Year) emerged as the winner of 15th GNLU International Moot Court Competition. Manya has been awarded as the Best Speaker in the final rounds of the competition.
65th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (India Qualifying Rounds)2024(14-17 February 2024)
We congratulate the team comprising of Apohan Pareek (II Year), Bhasvar Adlakha (II Year), Sparsh Gautam (II Year), Vasushrava Mahipal (III Year) and Vedant Jha (II Year) emerged as the Runners-Up and has been awarded with the Best Memorial Award at 65th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (India Qualifying Rounds). Bhasvar Adlakha and Vedant Jha have additionally been awarded 6th Place and 7th Place Oralist at the Preliminary Stage.
NLU Delhi’s team wins 25th Stetson International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition Surana & Surana Indian National Rounds’ (2021)
It is our pleasure to inform you that NLUD team comprising Aparna Krishna Kumar (Year III), Ayan Gupta (Year II) and Ghanavi Umesh (Year II) has been declared as the Winning Team at the 25th Stetson International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition Surana & Surana Indian National Rounds.
This year’s problem was based at the intersection of international environmental law, public international law and international trade law, focussing on ‘Protection of Bats and International Trade Measures’. The team worked extremely hard on their arguments in the past months which culminated in this success.
Ayan Gupta was adjudged as the Best Student Advocate in the competition as well as the Best Oralist in the Final Rounds. They were also adjudged to have the 3rd Best Memorials in the competition. With this result, they have qualified for the international rounds of the competition hosted by Stetson University, Florida to be held on 25 March – 27 March 2021.
We are delighted to share the success of the team and congratulate everyone involved in ensuring that we make it to the international rounds after a long hiatus of 8 years. We wish the team the best for the international rounds and hope that their performance will encourage other mooters as well.
NLU Delhi’s ANUPRIYA (Rhodes Scholar Elect for India 2021)
National Law University Delhi is proud to share that our final year student Ms. Anupriya Dhonchak has been awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for the year 2021.
The entire NLU Delhi family congratulates Ms. Anupriya Dhonchak for this stellar achievement and wishes her tremendous success in her academic pursuits at the University of Oxford.
Anupriya has worked on action-oriented policy projects concerning rights of survivors of sexual violence, women prisoners and issues of reproductive justice. She has been published by the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law and Justice and recently, co-authored a book chapter with Prof Carys Craig on a feminist reimagination of moral rights in copyright law. Currently, she is a fellow at SpicyIP and a teaching assistant for Intellectual Property at NLUD. She is interested in the intersection of issues of equality law and free speech with intellectual property. She has also played 5 national badminton championships throughout middle school and high school.
This is the second Rhodes Scholarship being awarded to NLU Delhi. In 2016, Ms. Rishika Sahgal (Batch of 2015) went to the University of Oxford as the first recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship from NLU Delhi. She is currently reading for the D.Phil. in Law at the University of Oxford.
NLU Delhi’s Students stood Runners-up at the ‘Client Counselling Competition’
NLU Delhi is proud to announce that a team comprising of its students from the third year, namely Priyamvada Kaushik and Preksha Sharma, was adjudged as Runners-up in the ‘2nd Link Legal Client Counselling Competition’ held at NLIU Bhopal, from September 6 to 8, 2019. They were awarded a trophy and a cash prize of INR 21,000, at the valedictory ceremony of the competition.
